Remote Learning - Autumn 2020
If one of our class bubbles closes, we will provide remote learning via our interactive platform: Purple Mash. Login details and parent guides were sent out during September 2020 (copies can be found below)
The learning will develop knowledge and skills that are currently being taught in class and will include daily English and Maths activities.
As mentioned in our previous newsletters, it is vital that you let us know if you don't have access to a device and/or the internet so that we can put plans in place in event of a sudden closure.
Class teachers are available for support and advice daily and can be contacted on the following email addresses:
We continually review our Remote Learning provision and welcome any feedback. Please either contact the class teachers using the email addresses above or contact Kerry Darby via firstname.lastname@example.org
How long can I expect work set by the school to take my child each day?
We expect that remote education (including videos, live chats and independent work) will take pupils broadly the following number of hours each day:
|Year Group||Teacher||Number of hours|
|Year 1||Laura Duker||3|
|Year 2||Clare Stewart||3|
|Year 3/4||Micheal Cocks||4|
We also set optional extension activities such as games and other activities to reinforce the key learning.
How will my child be taught remotely?
We use a combination of the following approaches to teach pupils remotely:
Daily recorded teaching (including daily phonic sessions –Year 1/Reception, teacher introductions, White Rose Maths Videos)
printed resources produced by teachers (e.g. workbooks, worksheets)
reading books (Pupils are able to change these weekly at dedicated drop off/pick up slots)
Tasks set directly on our online learning platforms (Purple Mash, Tapestry, Times Table Rock Stars, Number Bots, Nessy, Charanga Yumu Music)
