Meet The Pines Parents and Friends Association (PFA)
Chair: Bunmi Mead
I'm Bunmi a Research Scientist with a focus on cancer and rare diseases. My oldest Alexander will be moving to Year 1 in September and my 2½ year old Benjamin attendS Pine Cones. In my limited spare time I love working on my arts and crafts, baking and going on adventures with my boys.
In my role as PFA chair, I will be responsible for organising and leading the PFA activities; To create a community where all voices are heard with the common goal of fundraising for the betterment of The Pines and Pine Cones pupils.
Secretary: Louise Nickerson
Hi, I’m Louise Nickerson. I am mum to Luna who will be going into Year 1 in September and Myla who will start reception at The Pines in September. I also have an 8 year old step son named Ayan.
My professional background includes working in brand management and as a Category Analyst. At present I am working in a bar/restaurant while I focus on my favourite role so far, being a mum.
Until very recently, when the club folded, I was a player and secretary for Red Lodge Ladies FC. I am really excited to begin work with the PFA as the Secretary, to support the school with its various projects and hopefully make the children’s school experience one to remember.
Co-treasurer: Vicki Brewer
I’m Vicki Brewer, I am a Wages Clerk at Tesco and have worked for the company for the past 16 years.
I am Mum to Ella who is currently in Year 2 and to Alfie who is currently in Reception, I also have an 11 year old Step-son called Owen.
My role on the Pines PFA is Treasurer, I wanted to be on the Pines PFA as I love seeing the children have fun while being in their learning environment & to help raise funds that will be used to benefit the pupils at The Pines.
Co-treasurer: Daniel Mead
I'm Dan Mead, a molecular biologist and project manager. I've served on the board of trustees for the Millennium Centre and as the finance officer for a local football team. My oldest son, Alexander, will be starting Year 1 in September and my youngest, Benjamin, is in Pine Cones. My role will be to support Vicki and be a general dogs-body for the PFA.
Reception/Year 1 class representative: Kelly Boston
Hi I’m Kelly Boston, I’m a PE Teacher by profession having over 17 years experience working in secondary and primary schools both in the UK and overseas. I have Sienna who is going into Year 1 in September and George who is starting Reception class also this year. My role in the PFA is Reception/Year 1 representative, with the view to enhance communication to the parents and help raise funds etc. I believe the PFA is here to support the teachers and school to maximise the opportunities available to each pupil through fund raising and various activities throughout the year.
Year 2/3 class representative: Charlotte Mubaiwa
Hi, I'm Charlotte Mubaiwa, I'm Mum to Taku in Year 2, Michael in Year 1, and Tatenda who is at Pinecones. I am a registered Mental Health Nurse and this is a subject I'm very passionate about.
I'm excited to be part of the Pines PFA and wanted to join so I could help support the school and pupils, get to know everyone. My role will involve helping to fund raise and creating a line of communication between the Year 2/3 pupils/parents and the PFA.
