Hi Pines Community!
Welcome to the Autumn/Winter menu – it’s been a joy to put this together and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting our new reception class.
You will notice some advancements on the previous year, which we feel benefit our offering greatly and further offer healthier and more environmentally friendly options as well as further reducing our food miles..
Following the key success of our international food week at the end of the summer term, we have brought back some of those dishes as regular features and introduced others to keep new flavours at the forefront of lunchtimes. As a catering team in an ever-changing and challenging cycle of food trends, we are really keen to provide equal opportunities to all.
FUNKY FISH FRIDAY
The children have taken to the adaption of less chips fantastically! So, onto the next step. You will see that there is now only one Friday offering the chips/breaded fish combo and we have most certainly varied the offering as promised with new and healthier fish options taking centre stage. This really does set us apart from a lot of other schools and fish is such an important part of a healthy diet, so we are glad to be doing our best to provide this to the children in our school.
THE HEALTHY FOOD LINE
We are absolutely thrilled with the interest in the Healthy Food Line since we implemented it last year. The Pioneers have been naming, pointing, describing and expressing enjoyment at all of the produce displayed on the line daily. (Could we be any prouder? No, we absolutely couldn’t!) Needless to say, we will continue to brighten up the area where the children collect their food and look forward to adding to the repertoire of displays during the course of the year.
As always, our menus are fully adaptable and will chop and change where necessary as we follow the lead of the Pioneers and their preferences.
